There are stories you’ve heard your whole life. How they met. What they were like when they were young. The family traditions they carried forward.
And there are probably stories you’ve never thought to ask. This Side of Goodbye helps you preserve all of it.
PRESERVE THEIR STORY
No cameras. No production crew. Just a conversation worth keeping.

THE THINGS THAT STAY WITH US
A conversation worth keeping.
The most meaningful stories are often the ones we assume we’ll always be able to hear.
Watch a story.
Sometimes the easiest way to understand it is to experience one. Here’s a moment, in his own words and his own voice, exactly as he’d tell it at the kitchen table.
While there’s still time to ask.
Someday, you may find yourself wishing you could hear one particular story again. Or ask one more question.
“What did you love most about raising us?”
“What was Grandpa really like?”
“What were you most afraid of when you were young?”
“How did you know Mom was the one?”
“What are you most proud of?”
“What do you hope your grandchildren remember about you?”
This Side of Goodbye creates the opportunity to ask those questions today. And to preserve the answers in the one thing photographs alone can never capture: their voice.
A conversation. Their photographs. Their story.
HOW IT COMES TOGETHER
01 / A FIRST CONVERSATION
A short call to talk you through who you’d like to honor, your timeline, and how the process works. No pressure, no preparation needed.
02 / A LITTLE HOMEWORK
You and your loved one each get a short questionnaire. Theirs acts as a guide. Yours shares the stories, names, and questions the family hopes most to hear. Together, they help shape the interview.
03 / THE CONVERSATION
We meet you wherever you feel most comfortable—your home, another familiar setting, or a quiet space provided by This Side of Goodbye. It’s a thoughtful, unscripted conversation, guided by someone who knows how to bring stories to life.
04 / THE PHOTOGRAPHS
You and your family choose 60–90 favorite photographs: childhood, marriage, children, and grandchildren. Traditions, milestones, and ordinary moments that turned out not to be ordinary at all. Digital JPEGs are ideal, shared electronically or on a thumb drive.
05 / THE STORY
We thoughtfully edit the conversation and pair their voice with photographs from throughout their life. The result feels less like a production and more like sitting down with someone you love. A story your family can return to for years to come.
What will they talk about?
Every conversation is different. We might talk about:
There is no perfect answer. There is simply their answer.
Choose the story you’d like to preserve.

FOR THE LIFE THEY’RE LIVING
Not a memorial. A family story.
This Side of Goodbye isn’t something that needs to wait until someone is ill. In fact, we’d rather it didn’t. These stories are often best captured when parents and grandparents are comfortable, relaxed, and able to enjoy telling them.
Milestone birthdays. Anniversaries. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Family reunions. Christmas. Or simply because someone realized—we should do this while we can.
One day, it may be shared with grandchildren, played at an anniversary, passed to another generation, or become part of a celebration of life. The reason to create it isn’t because someone is leaving.
It’s because they’re still here.
A deeply personal gift.
You can buy someone almost anything. But there are very few gifts that become more valuable as the years pass.
A This Side of Goodbye story isn’t really a gift for one person. It’s a gift for an entire family. And eventually, for people who haven’t even been born yet.
Meet Amy

I’m Amy, a Legacy Storyteller in Sugar Land, Texas.
I wish I remembered my grandmother’s voice. I remember her, but not how she sounded when she laughed or told a story. That’s why I do this work.
I sit down with your parent, usually at their kitchen table, and we simply talk. There’s no script and no rush, just good questions and room to remember. Then I turn their words and photographs into something your family can keep, so their voice is never something you have to try to remember.
Start their story.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want captured. That’s our job. Tell us a little about your parent or loved one and we’ll start with a conversation.
There’s no obligation. We’ll simply begin with a conversation.
